In Honor of Ray Bradbury's 91st Birthday

~ an excerpt from Ray Bradbury's, Fahrenheit 451

‎"Some day the load we're carrying with us may help someone. But even when we had the books on hand, a long time ago, we didn't use what we got out of them.  We went right on insulting the dead.  We went right on spitting in the graves of all the poor ones who died before us.  We're going to meet a lot of lonely people in the next week and the next month and the next year.  And when they ask us what we're doing, you can say, We're remembering.  That's where we'll win out in the long run.  And some day we'll remember so much that we'll build the biggest goddamn steam-shovel in history and dig the biggest grave of all time and shove war in and cover it up.  Come on now, we're going to go build a mirror-factory first and put out nothing but mirrors for the next year and take a long look in them."

BREAKING: Ray Bradbury passed away today at age 91.

"The good writers touch life often.  The mediocre ones run a quick hand over her.  The bad ones rape her and leave her for the flies." - Ray Bradbury

You, sir were a damn good writer.  Thank you for touching my life, Ray. RIP

Don't forget to celebrate Banned Books Week this September...

Where Is The Press? [UPDATE] PREMIER

"With the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks only a month away, former CIA Director George Tenet and two former top aides are fighting back hard against allegations (from Richard Clarke, Chief White House Counter-Terror Advisor, 98 - 02) that they engaged in a massive cover-up in 2000 and 2001 to hide intelligence from the White House and the FBI that might have prevented the attacks." - Phil Shenon, The Daily Beast.

On Thursday, the CIA threatened the journalists behind Who Is Rich Blee? with possible federal prosecution if the investigative podcast is released in its current form.
We are delaying that release while we consult with others and weigh our options. A press statement with a more complete explanation will be made available at this site soon.

"The release of the interview with Richard Clarke is only the "first wave." On 9/11/2011, an audio-cast is being released. According to Ray Nowosielski (producer for 9/11 Press For Truth), "a good number of former gov't officials from various agencies have been coming to us to back up Clarke's basic assertions, providing various details and first-person accounts that make clear that Clarke is not simply a "conspiracy theorist."

Who Killed Economic Growth?

Richard Heinberg proposes a startling diagnosis in this short video presented by fine folks at the Post Carbon Institute.

Indeed, there are many issues and nuances left out but this is a good start to answering the how's and why's we all need to come to grips with so we can move forward.  You'll find other issues and those mentioned in the video are addressed in the book from which this material was excerpted:
